Custom fitting

Everyone who plays golf has a different swing - it's a result of different build, different coaching, all the variables that affect your game. It therefore makes sense that your clubs should be as individual as you. Custom fitting is the way to tailor golf clubs to your personal swing.

The goal of all custom fitting is to ensure that if you swing well, the club is square at impact and the ensuing shot is true. Custom fitting starts with a series of simple measurements, including wrist-to-floor, height and hand size. Some manufacturers will also look at your old clubs, while others like to start from scratch.

The more expensive services will work with you in person, even having you hit some balls to assess whether the heel or the toe of the club strikes first. Less expensive options will rely on measurements you send them. But whichever route you take, they will all be looking to find the right size club to fit your individual physical attributes and allow you to achieve the ideal posture, swing plane and impact position.

Some golfers worry that they are not good enough to need clubs fitted for them, but the truth is that anyone can benefit from this service. The good news is that fitting is widespread across the UK, with most manufacturers having sites in numerous locations.
